Keynote speakers will cover topics on storytelling, creativity and community

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Aug. 9, 2021—To inspire creativity at the 2021 CET Experience, Configura today announced leaders from Pixar, Minecraft and Configura will headline this year’s virtual conference, which takes place Oct. 26-28.

“Our CET community is known for its spirit of creativity and collaboration and we are excited to welcome leaders from inspiring companies around the globe to this year’s CET Experience,” Configura’s Global Head of User Community and Events Kelsey DeBruin said. “Together, our community is driving the future of design and creating spaces that make a positive impact. Our keynote speakers will inspire attendees to go after their big ideas and innovate together as a community.”

This year’s CET Experience theme is “Create together. Create the future.” Keynote speakers will highlight their ideas around storytelling, creativity and community, and how these topics can be used to shape the future of design.

Matthew Luhn, director of Blender and former story artist at Pixar, will kick off CET Experience on Tuesday, Oct. 26. Luhn is an accomplished storyteller, instructor, motivational keynote speaker and story consultant with more than two decades of experience creating stories and characters at Pixar Animation Studios. Luhn’s story credits include Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, Monsters Inc., Monsters University, Finding Nemo, UP, Cars, Ratatouille and other films currently in development. Luhn’s keynote will highlight how the art of storytelling can be used in business.

Agnes Larsson, also known as “LadyAgnes” in the Minecraft community, is the Vanilla Minecraft Game Director at Mojang. She will speak Wednesday, Oct. 27 on “Crafted Together” where she’ll share her experiences on crafting new experiences for players that are driven by the Minecraft community. As Vanilla Minecraft Game Director at Mojang, Larsson brings happiness and inspiration to millions of players and works to make Minecraft accessible and inclusive for everyone. Prior to Mojang, Larsson was a core developer at Configura.

Johan Lyreborn, Configura’s chief evangelist and co-founder, will speak on the final day of CET Experience, Thursday, Oct. 28. His session “One Community” will highlight how the CET community comes together to solve problems and succeed as one community. For over 30 years, Lyreborn has worked alongside co-founder Göran Rydqvist to develop a platform known today as CET, which has transformed the way spaces are designed and specified in the material handling, commercial interiors and kitchen and bath, industries. Today, Lyreborn spends his time educating people about CET and supporting Configura’s global sales team. Prior to his role as chief evangelist, Lyreborn led Configura as CEO for 20 years.

“The CET community is a shining example of a user community that’s making a true difference by coming together to share ideas, innovate and create amazing spaces that help people,” Larsson said. “As a former Configuran and now in my role at Mojang, I have seen first-hand how people can inspire the future of technology through collaboration. I’m looking forward to connecting with the CET community again and sharing ways to craft experiences together.”

Held annually in the fall, CET Experience brings together those who use, create and invest in CET including users, developers and manufacturers, Configura employees and service and development partners in the commercial interiors, material handling and kitchen and bath industries.

New for 2021, CET Experience offers an expanded schedule for attendees based in Europe. The virtual conference will also highlight breakout sessions led by CET users, the CET Awards ceremony and giveaways.

CET Experience registration opened July 26. Keynote presentations can be viewed for free with the “Limited Access Ticket.” To purchase tickets, visit www.cetexperience.com.
