In March 2020, 6RS announced enhancements to Chuck - its collaborative mobile robot which serves as the company’s hardware workhorse and complements its powerful software capabilities. Among these enhancements are increased capacity, expanded compliance and improved usability. Over the past year, 6 River Systems (6RS) has made a series of enhancements to its wall-to-wall fulfillment solution to help warehouse operators further improve site management, gain more concrete business transparency across singular or multiple sites and accelerate their return on investment. As part of this work, to provide more visibility into operations and increase efficiency, 6RS developed The Bridge, an overarching tool that connects the data from what’s happening on the ground in a physical warehouse operation to an intuitive cloud-based control center for both supervisors and executives. This tool gives the director of supply chain the ability to fine tune and control each aspect of their operation and optimize their warehouse to meet the unique needs of their business. The Bridge serves as a command center, improving operation insights and decision making by providing real-time information from a single source that floor supervisors can use to manage labor and meet SLAs. Similar to how Chuck directs associate activities, The Bridge guides managers through open tasks, exceptions and defining operation rules so that all buildings run consistently. Mobile access enables managers to keep the operation running smoothly even while they’re on the floor or out of the facility.
The enhancements to Chuck and the introduction of The Bridge give warehouses expanded insight into day-to-day picking and packing activity on the floor and the ability to customize each aspect of the fulfillment process. The Bridge allows operators to leverage SLA management, embedded operational dashboards and exception management.
The innovations made to 6 River Systems’ wall-to-wall fulfillment solutions allow senior-level warehouse operators to further improve site management, gain more concrete business transparency across singular or multiple sites and accelerate their return on investment.
