Summary of Innovation

Softeon combines its powerful WMS with a new Warehouse Execution System (WES) to bring higher levels of performance to distribution centers. Softeon WMS and WES are each available standalone, or as a powerful integrated solution (Warehouse Management + Execution System) for the first time. Leveraging our component architecture, Softeon can uniquely and flexibly share specific WMS or WES capabilities with each other, using a shared component library. A common example would be adding advanced cartonization functionality from the WMS to a WES deployment. Softeon’s WES simply brings powerful fulfillment capabilities beyond those available even in leading WMS systems. Those capabilities include: granular, real-time visibility to throughput and bottlenecks for each DC process or area/zone; use of simulation to drive labor planning and dynamic resource allocation; direct, real-time control and optimization of various picking sub-systems, from mobile robots to put walls, Voice and more (see accompanying video); order batch optimization; fully autonomous order release (new to the industry) based on priority, inventory and resource availability, carrier cut-off times and more. Softeon WES uniquely delivers value both to heavily and less automated DCs. In April, 2020, UPS Supply Chain Solutions announced it was building its Smart Warehouse of the Future program on a software platform of Softeon WMS and WES, noting a 50% productivity gain for one client: https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2020/04/23/2020977/0/en/UPS-Launches-Smart-Warehouse-Technology.html

Innovation Statement

Softeon is the first company to fully bring WMS and WES in a single solution, delivering new levels of distribution productivity and throughput. The automated order release ushers in the era of what Gartner calls the “autonomous WMS."

Applicability

Softeon’s Warehouse Management + Execution System brings together WMS and WES functionality for the first time, giving companies an integrated set of tools for improving distribution costs and increasing throughput to unprecedented levels in the industry.
