What You Will Learn

Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) are capable of transporting loads up to 1,500 kilograms. Superior vision and mapping technologies enable Fetch mobile robots to perceive and navigate warehouse and factory environments. They’re intelligent enough to dynamically reroute around obstacles without operator intervention, while recognizing and avoiding everything from people to fork truck tines.

Mobile robots can be inserted into your operation with little or no new infrastructure, requiring only a few hours to learn their surroundings. Multiple top-mounted attachments enable the robots to perform various applications, including:

- Pallet conveyance — AMRs capable of transporting loads of up to 1,500 kilograms can be loaded or unloaded directly with a forklift, or work independently via pickup and delivery (PND) stations.
- Returns processing — By automating the movement of rolling carts, AMRs streamline reverse logistics operations, eliminating errors and freeing up scarce workers for more value-added tasks.
- Automated machine tending — AMRs with roller tops can be used to transport parts and goods between automated manufacturing equipment, replenish AS/RS, or handle items that can’t easily be moved by conveyors. They can also provide a flexible “bridge” between different conveyor systems.

For even greater accuracy, many AMRs can be combined with order-picking technologies like hand scanners or voice systems. Mobile robots can also be used in a “goods-to-robot” workflow, in which mobile units feed products to each-picking robots, replacing both order picking and conveyance.

- Cloud robotics platform enables on-demand automation within the warehouse
- 100, 500 and 1,500 kg models can autonomously transport virtually any item, from parts to pallets
- Deploy in hours with minimal infrastructural changes
- Available interfaces can integrate to a variety of external systems, from hand scanners to PLCs to WMS, WES and WCS
- The broadest range of AMRs in the industry, available for applications such as piece/case/pallet picking, order consolidation and kitting, replenishment, cross-docking and RFID scanning

Key Takeaways

- Increase operational savings and decrease safety incidents by reducing of the number of forklifts/operators required for transport.
- Automate inefficient, manual processes to enable the repurposing of labor to value-added operations.
- Enhance accuracy by connecting directly to WES/WMS/WCS to move goods, eliminating manual errors and human wait times in a repetitive process.
