Powering a belt conveyor typically requires the head pulley to be lagged with a rubber surface. This lagged surface experiences uneven belt tension, resulting in uneven lagging wear, and subsequently, belt mistracking. Engineering advancements in lagging application has eliminated common failures by introducing ‘shear bars’ to overcome uneven wear. Attendees of the seminar will learn how these ‘bars’ will convert shear forces into compressive forces preventing uneven wear, lagging failure, and belt failure, extending the life-span of their conveyor system.
